product management as a discrete discipline in a small, but growing,
company? How should it fit into the organisation?
Is there a natural fit into Marketing
or Software Development, or somewhere else?
And how can it be enabled to be
successful? These challenges faced Respond in 2005. This
presentation will examine the work done at Respond to wrestle with
this dilemma and rise to the challenge of building and empowering
Product Management to be a significant contributor to corporate
success. It will critically examine the management approach, the
processes and tools used as part of the (ongoing) program.
Presenter:
Ian Mapp is currently head of Product Management at Respond, a
UK-based ISV specialising in customer feedback and complaints
management.
He has over 20 years' international experience in customer services,
working in senior positions with service providers, solution providers
and consultancies. Ian holds a Masters degree in Electronic Commerce
and Marketing from the University of Portsmouth(UK).
